Dis-Patch Newsletter April 2025

April 2025 Volume 5, Issue 04
Dear Quilting Friends,

Just when I thought spring had sprung another winter storm came through late last night and dumped 4+ inches of snow all over our neighborhood! I probably wouldn’t make such a big deal out of it except for the fact that my “SUV” has only rear-wheel drive, isn’t really made to travel over all types of road conditions and I dread driving my husband’s F-150. ?

When I bought my car in Virginia it seemed perfect for every season, especially when it snowed because everyone just stayed home or used mass transit to get around. Boy! It’s a good thing the roads here (in Utah) are regularly plowed, and I have some decent tread on the tires. Needless to say, I arrived safe and sound. Now if I could just get some generous soul to come shovel the sidewalk in front of the shop, I’d be in good shape.

Kami and I have been working hard to get ready for the Panguitch Quilt Walk Festival (just 2 months from now). While I’m making a list of important take-a-longs, she’s been madly cutting fat eighths to curate unique 16-piece Mini-Packs to go along with our own line of patterns. There will also be 3-yard quilt kits (for your Fabric Café patterns), 1, 3 and 5-yard cuts of fabric (the biggest being good for quilt backing), as well as some books, notions and tools for sale.

And….. the best part for me is that my husband Tim will be my booth-mate! So, please come by and say “hi” to both of us. He’s definitely the family “social butterfly” and will welcome the chance to chat with all of you.

I’m sure this is true in your life as well as mine, that there is always something to celebrate or someone to share a little love with. And what better way to do that than with a quilt??? So, here’s my summer list for personal gifts: 2 friends’ birthdays, 1 grandson’s graduation, my granddaughter’s wedding, another grandson’s baptism and 2 cousin’s Christmas gifts. Fortunately, several of the patterns and fabric have already been selected. Now it’s a matter of overcoming the urge to put them off till the last minute. Arghhh!!!

Procrastination is probably my biggest flaw (like getting the newsletter out on time, ha ha). But I’m consciously working very hard to 1) follow through on my thoughts and ideas when I have them, and 2) finish what I started before starting something new. What a novel idea, right?!?!?!? Unfortunately, I’m already behind the curve as I have a pile of things to finish that I started years ago. I guess there will come a time when those become the current project to focus on and the pile will eventually go away. Alas, one can only hope!

Wishing you the best April and Easter ever!

As always, we hope you’re healthy, happy, and finding joy in each 1/4” seam

Happy Quilting!
