Paisley Dis-Patch June 2024

June 2024 Volume 5, Issue 06

Dear Quilting Friends,

May was such a great month! I typically don’t make a big deal about Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day or my birthday, but Tim and I were able to participate in a couple of once-in-a-lifetime events that make us super-proud grandparents.

Mother’s Day weekend we got to host our daughter Katy, son-in-law Jesse and grandson Owen for a few days. That Friday grandkids Mia, Ana and Mason joined us as we all attended the Taylorsville temple open house, followed by breakfast at the Original Pancake House (yum!) and a trip to Hogle Zoo. It was a big day, and we were very tired by the time we got home.

On Saturday, May 11th, our grandson John got baptized. It was a pretty exciting day with lots of family coming in to support him. What we didn’t anticipate was faulty plumbing that left the water used to fill the baptismal font unfit to look at, let alone perform a baptism. Fortunately, a nearby family offered to let John be baptized in their hot tub and everything worked out just fine. A memorable experience for sure!

May 22nd proved to be another outstanding day when our grandson Eli graduated from Juab High School. He’s one of the best things about being a grandparent. Eli is kind, thoughtful and just a great young man. I’m definitely very proud of him and give his parents (Kami and Mike) credit for preparing him to achieve his future goals.

Now that June has begun Tim and I already have a couple of fun events planned for this month. On Friday the 7th Kami will be covering the shop as we head down to the Panguitch Quilt Walk. It’s an annual festival with quilt show, classes, vendor booths, pioneer home tour, and theater production which commemorates how quilts saved the townsfolk in 1864. (Check it out here: Panguitch Story). After that I’ll be leaving the shop in Kami’s capable hands once again as we head north to go camping along the Snake River in Idaho. Should be a good time as Katy, Jesse and Owen will be camping with us for the weekend.

Finally, I want to give a Happy Father’s Day shout out to all the husbands, fathers, and/or significant others who support our sometimes “crazy” hobbies/projects/endeavors. I feel so blessed to have many loves in my life. Tim is not only a great dad, I know I wouldn’t be where I’m at in my life without such a wonderful man cheering me on from the sidelines. Then there are our nine kids, five sons and/or daughters-in-law, our 24 grandchildren, two dogs and quilting.

And quilting has opened the floodgates to meeting new people which turn into great friends. I hope you feel the same.

As always, we hope you’re healthy, happy, and finding joy in each 1/4” seam.

Happy Quilting!
~ Beth and Kami
