January 2023 Volume 4, Issue 01

Hello Friends,
I know this is a little late getting out, but on the 31^st my husband and I did some really last-minute errands dropping off household goods at our local donation and picking up some supplies for today’s home improvement tasks. By the time I got home, my mind was on other projects (like instructions for our Amish quilt class).

This morning it’s pretty quiet here in the house. My first load of laundry is in the washer.  I’m hearing the occasional hum of the refrigerator. And, my husband and the dogs are digging out the driveway and sidewalk from the latest 2-day snowstorm to hit our area. 

It’s a beautiful scene looking out over a blanket of pristine snow across the valley. I know there are some who wish it would stop (seems we’ve had some level of snow on the ground since October), but we need the moisture. Utah has been especially dry for the past couple of years. I’m just grateful that many prayers are being answered in such a beautiful way.

 As I mentioned above, I’ve been working on block instructions for the Amish quilt class that starts in February. They are coming along nicely, and I should have the whole shebang   done in the next week or two. I’ll also be posting material and cutting requirements to our website so you can have your pieces prepared in advance of each weekly session.

  Kami is working on plans for our next Block-of-the Month offering starting in March. It’s called Bow-Diddley and will be created from some of our in-store inventory which       should provide the backdrop for some unique outcomes. What I mean by that is even though the same pattern will be used, different colorways and fabric designs will result in   one-of-a-kind quilts which we all love to make!  

We hope you had a blessed and prosperous 2022 and that trend will continue in 2023. Happy New Year!
