Dear Quilting Friends,
Please feel free to sing along!
Happy anniversary to us!
Happy anniversary to us!
Happy anniversary Paisley Patch Quilts.
Happy anniversary to us!!!
Can you believe it? On September 8th we will be celebrating our second anniversary!!! We were a bit nervous at the thought of opening our doors during such a precarious time in 2020. But, thanks to all of you we have continuously been able to bring you quality merchandise and service for all your quilting needs (and wants). Needless to say, we are truly grateful for your support!
Well, things are moving along at the shop. New patterns and tutorials are being created. Classes are filling up. And quilting life just never ends. For instance, I often wake up in the morning with another idea for a new quilt design. I don’t know where they come from, but I’m excited to see the results after I develop them into workable patterns.
Speaking of lots to do, is anyone out there interested in supporting a new quilt guild here in Nephi, Utah? If yes, please come by or send us an email to let us know. I belonged to the Haymarket chapter of Quilters Unlimited in Virginia and had a blast with a great group of quilters who willingly shared their knowledge, served the community, and showed off their latest projects. It will be held the same Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening each month. If you’re interested in supporting this venture, come by or send an email to let us know. We’ll collect your input for the next few weeks, then decide next steps.
On a personal note my husband and I have spent the past few weeks preparing to attend his family’s annual campout in Washington state. It should be an interesting experience since I haven’t spent any time cooking over an open fire, feeling every rock under my sleeping bag and smelling like bug repellent since we moved to Virginia in 2007 and Utah in 2018. We should have a good time though. Tim’s family are good people and I’m actually looking forward to the trip.
As soon as I get back, I’ll be working on this quilt as an entry in the Peteetneet Quilt Show in Payson, Utah.
Requirements in the “Challenge” category include 1) having to use at least 1/2 of the featured fat quarter print in the design and 2) not exceeding a maximum size of 40” X 40”. This will be my first judged submission. Please cross your fingers and wish me luck!
While Fall doesn’t officially start for a few weeks, the signs of the season are all around us. Leaves are starting to turn red and yellow, and the morning air is a little crisper than it was just a week ago. Must be time to dig out my fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving fabrics and make something new to celebrate each occasion. If you’re so inclined, we’d love to see the quilted items you display each year. After all, sharing is caring. ????
As always, we hope you’re healthy, happy and finding joy in each 1/4” seam.
Happy Quilting!
