The Paisley Dis-Patch Newsletter June 2022
June 2022 Volume 3, Issue 6
Dear Quilting Friends,
First off, I’d like to give a public shout out to my daughters Kami and Robin for taking care of the shop while I was in Florida visiting family and attending our grandson Ryen’s high school graduation. Both of them are so talented in their own ways and good to their momma. It was nice to get away knowing that everything was in good hands.
Since graduations are happening now, here’s a picture of Ryen in his cap and gown
(with his mom, my daughter Kim).
In addition to receiving his diploma he has chosen a military career and will soon be one of the few, one of the proud, Marines. To commemorate his decision, I found Marine print fabric for the full blocks and used solids to remind him of the colors of his dress uniform.
(dark blue jacket and royal blue pants with a red stripe)
Additionally, there is an allover eagle and flag print on the back.
He was so excited to get it that he pulled all the other blankets off his bed and has slept with just that quilt ever since. Definitely, makes this grandma tear up a bit when she sees her grown-up grandbabies snuggle with their special quilts.
As promised in last month’s newsletter, here’s my update on making a fabric bowl. Sigh, I didn’t accomplish a darn thing! Unfortunately, the time spent preparing for my vacation, being gone for a whole week and then coming back to a major computer update on the longarm upended my to-do list and that project fell a few notches on my schedule. But, June is a new month and since I am my own boss, I get to decide what and when things get done. Hopefully, I’ll have better news in July.
As always, we hope you’re healthy, happy and finding joy in each 1/4” seam.
